When using DMX, the movement is extremely jerky. I would LOVE this feature! However, there's something else that annoys me about the Dynamo's. The 812 solves a huge flaw in the Dynamo, and that's the separation of the colour and gobos. Amongst people I've spoken to, the 812 has a very good reputation especially considering it's really quite old by now.Īnyway, on to my question. The lamp cost doesn't bother me too much (as long as the light gives rewarding performance) which I've heard it really does.

Having heard of the 812's, I'm familiar with their pros and cons. There's a listing at the moment for 2 812's in a flight case for £200 including postage. Instead of investing in another 2 Dynamo's, I was casually browsing around eBay and discovered that 2 Martin 812's used were pretty much the same price. I own a pair of Acme Dynamo 250watt scanners, and my original intension was to buy 4.
